Description

We are seeking a Service Delivery Manager for our client in Reston, VA. Will be responsible for overall coordination, status reporting and stability of project oriented work efforts. Communication skills are very important as you will work with other departments and staff.

Will establish, implement and/or follow project management processes and methodologies for the IT community to ensure projects are delivered on time, adhere to high quality standards and meet customer expectations. Responsible for coordinating with defined Resource Managers to ensure planned, scheduled activities are staffed and delivered on the negotiated schedules and escalating functional, quality, timeline issues appropriately.

Responsible for tracking key project milestones. Ability to recognize and adjust project plans and/or resources to meet the needs of customers. Coordinate communication with all areas of the enterprise that impacts the scope, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.

Must possess knowledge and expertise in the use of project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques. Leads and monitors work of assigned staff across multiple functional areas within dept.

Required Skills -
3-7 years of relevant professional work experience. prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required. Candidate should be familiar with ITIL concepts of Release Mgmt., Change Mgmt., and Configuration Mgmt.

Preferred Skills -
Technology exposure to Virtualization, Weblogic 10, Oracle 10/11, and Apache are all pluses. Candidate should know how to use MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project.

Education/Certifications -
Associates Degree, Bachelors Degree or technical institute degree/certificate.
ITIL Foundations certification
