Job Description
This position will develop test strategies and plans in order to facilitate testing and verify updates to the sites, applications, configurations, and databases associated with the online tournament management and game systems. The position will use formal test and development methodologies to create test plans, specify test tools/harnesses, and implement automation suites sufficient to meet: internal test standards, QA Best Practices, business requirements and project schedules. The candidate will need to successfully test in multiple categories of testing from UI, unit, data, API, class, functional, configuration, performance, application to deployment and correctly apply test strategies to components, applications, systems and configurations of the online game and stores.
Key skills:
3-5 years of managing testing staff experience
3-5 years of hands on testing experience
Experience building test cases from a business perspective and experience mapping customer growth trends expressed in business terms
Skills in C++, C# or Java sufficient review Object and class models
Basic knowledge of MS-SQL, and online gaming systems.
Project:
Start date ASAP.
40 hours per week. Monday-Friday. Mon-Thursday 9 hours, Friday 4 hours.
Position to run until the end of next year. Upon successful completion could be directly hired by company.
Group Culture:
Casual work environment, Fridays are always a half day, Gaming.
Required Skills
Proven ability to build test cases from a business perspective and map customer growth trends expressed in business terms down to CPU,disk i/o, network utilization, database activity and other technical measurements. Thorough knowledge of formal testing approaches related to static and dynamic testing, statistical sampling, boundary testing, risk based testing, etc. Ability to develop (from site statistics and projection models) basic load/stress test scenarios. Ability design and implement test cases for a distributed, N-tier application including physical or virtual separation of applications in a distributed application (client-to-server, server-to-server, and server-to-data layer). Skills in C++, C# or Java sufficient review Object and class models, derive test strategies and plans, and specify test applications and/or harnesses. Ability to review system level or application level (object models, class diagrams, and entity-relationship diagrams) and derive technical and sufficient test documentation to test at API, interface, class, and application level. Network testing and/or analysis for configuration, load, or functionality. Functional knowledge of formal, managed deployment process of software applications, configurations, and system elements (server, database, application, configuration). Basic knowledge MS-SQL 2000, and online gaming systems. Basic.nix skills including: Shell navigation, running script, log monitoring and system performance. Ability to parse database schemas and relational diagrams sufficient to create/update SQL statements in order to: extract test data, create new records, and to modify existing data to complete data level test passes. Ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people including internal staff and external hosting, development or test organizations. Ability to work well with cross platform developers. Ability to adapt to changing business and development requirements and adjust test plan accordingly.
