This Mining organisation with its head office in Brisbane is looking for a Site Manager (potentially including the responsibility of Senior Site Executive (SSE) role) to manage the site activities on a large greenfield mine project near Mackay in Queensland.
Working out of the QLD site reporting to the Project Manager, you will be accountable for establishing the site, ensuring safety on the site and managing a construction management contractor to deliver the project safely to an aggressive timeframe.
As the Site Manager you will lead the site team, driving a culture of teamwork and performance to ensure project success by achieving key commercial, safety and business targets.
Essential requirements:
- An absolute commitment to safety
- Minimum 5 years experience in Client teams on coal or mineral projects
- Minimum 10 years proven onsite construction management experience
- Earthworks & Mine experience (onsite)
- Proven talent for identification and management of opportunities and risks by overlaying contractual, financial and technical awareness in a similar project environment is essential.
- Outstanding leadership credentials and the ability to drive results
- Ability to work flexibly and creatively to meet aggressive deadlines
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction contract management principles and practices.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering
- Show initiative and have excellent problem solving skills.
- Be creative thinkers with excellent written and verbal communication
- Have the ability to monitor information and be able to plan and organise with great attention to detail
- Possess negotiating skills and the ability to facilitate meetings is imperative
