The Industrial Relations Supervisor is the team leader and as such is responsible to the ER Manager for ensuring a good day to day industrial relations environment, including: consistent interpretation and application of Workplace Agreements; constant liaison with and provision of support to (Project) Management and Superintendents to effect a consistent approach to the implementation of Project industrial/employee relations systems (whilst preserving the team leader/team member relationship); developing and maintaining professional and effective working relationships with construction unions, and; liaison with all other Project functions to the fullest extent necessary to effect a good day to day industrial relations environment. The role will be deputy to the ER Manager.

Basic Qualifications.
Minimum of 5 years (preferably 10) in a senior industrial/employee relations role considered essential
On site construction industry experience essential
Good working knowledge of applicable legislation
Able to remain calm when under pressure
Strong influencing skills
Sound negotiation and mediation skills
Good communicator (verbal and written)
Microsoft Office skills

Additional Information.
Local, non-local/fifo or relocated status available
Effecting procedures and systems in consultation, with the ER Manager, that best ensures employee relations issues are identified and addressed in an acceptable time frame
Monitoring both directly and through direct reports, the employee relations performance of subcontractors through eg attendance at weekly progress meetings and conduct of audits
Periodically reviewing employee relations policies and procedures for continuous improvement .
