My client is a global, reputable oil and gas companies based in Sunbury, with a diverse commodities remit. The position is a great opportunity for an experienced project manager to work with customer and stakeholder teams , Managing budget, timescales and resources, applying appropriate governance, ensuring that project schedules and dependencies are factored into their plans.Responsibilities will include delivery of projects using the appropriate project methodology, influencing business ownership/engagement and identifying actions to improve project business value. Ensures clear project scope and develops effective project plans/cost schedules. Carries out effective project reporting and applies effective change control.
The successful candidate must have the following experience working with:
- Outsourced teams
- Offshore vendors and delivery teams
- Microsoft software development and deployment tools
- Management of virtual teams
Candidates are expected to be able to demonstrate:
- A sound project management background with accreditation (PMP) and thorough knowledge of underlying project methodologies and approaches
- Experience of managing third party software development (experience working with offshore development partners is essential.)
- Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Resource Management & Project Delivery. Demonstrated experience of budget management including accurate monthly forecasting and actuals reporting
- Experience working with technical and non-technical teams across a broad range of IT disciplines.
- Strong team/resource management skills, with excellent communication (verbal and written) and good negotiation and influencing skills.
- Implementation, automation and rollout knowledge of Sharepoint 2010 (SP2010) a strong advantage.
- Good technical awareness of web based applications and infrastructure.
- Experience of delivering projects in an ITIL environment including, with advanced use of Microsoft Project.
