The Senior Project Manager will lead project management aspects of a project implementing financial processes, policies, and systems for collections of outstanding receivables, working primarily with the sponsor for the project as well as stakeholders internally and externally and reporting to the PMO.
You will lead and manage multiple component parts of this program from start to finish for diverse client groups within this esteemed public sector organization. More specifically this includes planning, development, implementation and evaluation of projects including setting charter and consulting on the budgets. This is an opportunity to re-engineer financial systems and would benefit from a specialist in this area. Additionally you will supervise and manage in-house resources (union and non-union) and vendors, provide expert guidance on business and IT system design and implementation, manage contracts and vendors, handle risk & governance issues, foster great stakeholder relationships and hold financial accountability for project success.
This role requires a seasoned project manager and as such we are looking for the following credentials. 10+ years in full scope IT project management, PMP, (including implementation deployment and change management), degree calibre education in computer sciences, formal project management certification, experience in both PMLC and SDLC environments, supervisory management skills, exposure to budgeting and project accounting, and self sufficiency for personal IT PM tools. Government and/or Union experience will be considered an advantage.
HOWEVER it is personal characteristics that will differentiate the successful candidates. Strong communication and presentation skills, leadership ability, time management and organizational skills are key of course but we are also looking for a great team player with integrity and maturity.
