Description
The successful candidate will have the following credentials:
Skills/Knowledge required
* Understanding of composite manufacture gained in the Aerospace or similar industry.
* Understanding of the use of automation in composite manufacture, specifically Automated Fibre Placement.
* Understanding of Aerospace quality requirements relating to composite manufacture.
* Has used CATIA V5 or similar CAD package for the interrogation of models.
* Basic understanding of aircraft structure.
* Able to produce Project Plans and manage small scale projects.
* Holds minimum of HNC in Mechanical/Production/Aeronautical Engineering.
* SAP, PEGS or BaaN would also be ideal.
The Person
* Ideally you will have a background in composite manufacturing within the aerospace industry.
* Agile mind, capable of thinking independently and willing to take those ideas forward underpinned by experience gained to date.
* Flexibility to work outside of role as and when required to support team activities.
* A well rounded and competent Engineer.
Specific deliverables of the role
* As a member of the Spars manufacturing team, assist in the definition of composite manufacturing processes.
* Manage manufacturing trials required to support design activity in weight reduction activities.
* Identify process improvements delivering benefits to the value stream.
* Produce production planning documentation as required supporting development activity.
* Provide shop support in development phase and subsequent production phase.
* Capture and analyse data and prepare reports on development activity
