Position Description:Our client is seeking two Sr. Informatica Developers for a twelve month contract in their Richmond, VA corporate office. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for the design, development and unit testing of ETL code for Data Warehouse projects. The ideal candidate will possess a strong Informatica background, excellent people skills and outstanding communication skills.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Create high level design specifications describing both functional and non-functional technical requirements.
* Create detailed design specifications incorporating source to target mappings, business rules, data flows, controls and recovery/restart processes.
* Build and Unit Test ETL workflows from detailed design specifications utilizing Informatica PowerCenter 8.6.1 as the ETL environment.
* Participate in the creation of a robust Informatica ETL framework that facilitates object reuse, team development, data quality control and error handling.
* Work with Business System Analysts and Data Modelers to create file interface specifications for source system data acquisition.
* Troubleshoot and resolve data, system and performance problems.
* Create and maintain comprehensive system level metadata and documentation.
* Support project managers in defining tasks, efforts, and durations for assigned projects
Required Technical Skills:
* 8+ years utilizing the Informatica PowerCenter product.
* Experience with Informatica PowerCenter release 8.5 or higher required.
* Extensive experience in designing and developing ETL environments for Operating Data Stores and Data Warehouses.
* Strong Working knowledge of Datawarehouse and data mart architectures (dimensional models, star schemas, etc.)
* Strong Working knowledge of data staging, data cleansing and data validation architectures (3NF schemas).
Preferred Technical Skills:
Certified Informatica Developer preferred.
Required Soft Skills:
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
Education:
4 year College degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Business.
