Description
Our client is a niche consultancy that is working for a large fortune 500 company. They are urgently seeking 2 procurement category managers to help deliver multi-million pound savings over the next 3 - 6 months.
Role
- To work on the IT workstream
- To develop detailed category plans and strategies
- To work with the stakeholders within the organisation to understand their needs and requirements
- To conduct supplier selection and contract negotiation to reduce costs
- To act as the category specialist and provide expert advice as requested
Person
- An experienced category manager with in-depth knowledge of IT/IS workstreams
- An experienced negotiator with a proven track record of delivering savings
- Should have procurement best practice experience and be able to mentor colleagues along best practice lines
- Experience of working for large multi-national companies would be a significant advantage
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, are essential
- First-class references are essential
