Role/Team Summary:
The hiring departments prime function is to undertake positive and active management of the Bank's problem lending portfolio. The Department seeks to add value to exposure management with the aim of returning accounts to the originating Group Business Unit/Subsidiary in a "satisfactory" condition, maximise debt recoveries and obtain levels of reward commensurate with risks undertaken.

This role is responsible for ensuring the financial control over the provisions and loss data bookings process. The candidate needs to understand the impact the provisioning process has on all the other areas within the Bank and be responsible for the team's delivery to established deadlines and to frequently occurring new initiatives.

This role requires the candidate to ensure that a robust control environment exists around the provisioning process. It will also be instrumental that the candidate is able to forge strong communication networks across Finance and within the Business.

Reports to the Provisions and Loss Data Manager.

Key Role Deliverables
*Responsible for ensuring there is a robust financial control environment around provisions booking and related financial information
*Ensuring there is a clear timetable for monthly and period end reporting encompassing key deliverables and stakeholders
*Accurate and timely production of monthly results in the bank's ledgers.
*Clear and robust end to end process for the bookings of provisions and loss data .
*Ensure that all balances within the agreed cost centres are subject to strict reconciliation, substantiation and control.
*Responsible for working with the line manager to improve the timeliness and accuracy of provisions data to key stakeholders Completion of Financial and Regulatory requirements for period end reporting
*Assist in implementation and testing of new provision reporting tool
*Key liaison with all relevant financial controllers across the bank.
*Production and analysis of provisions data in respect of the business's performance - continually focusing on how to improve the analysis and meet changing business requirements

Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
*Newly qualified ACCA/ACA/CIMA to 3 years PQE
*Good experience of financial reporting controls
*Strong PC skills- in particular Excel
*Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
*Experience of multiple stake holder management
*Experience of driving process improvement
*Strong process and systems skills and understanding
