Cathedral Recruitment is operating as an employment agency, is currently seeking a 'Senior power electronics and motor drive control engineer' to work with one of our most prestigious clients over in Sweden. This is initially a 3 month+ contract with extensions that will become long term, you'll be working very close cooperation with the design teams in China.

Responsibilities will include:
Applied research on power electronics systems with strong focus on multi-pulse rectifiers and multi-level inverters in motor drives applications. Conduct high-power converters research with focus on topology development and converter hardware design. Cooperate with thermal, and mechanical design teams to optimize the performance of power electronics converters. Contribute to the prototyping, assembling, and testing of converters. Analysis of high-power semiconductor characterization (IGBT, IGCT, GTO, etc.). Development of control and modulation strategies. Analysis, design and implementation of motion control loops based on classical and advanced control schemes.

Qualifications and experience:
Master or higher degree in electrical engineering with focus on power electronics and 6+ years professional experience. Industrial experience in medium voltage drive inverters. Strong background in modern simulation tools like MATLAB/Simulink/PLECS, Simplorer, PSpice, etc. Expertise in high-power electronics converter designs. Industrial experience in lab setup and prototyping. Deep understanding of advanced motor control algorithms. Basic knowledge of thermal engineering technologies and material science.

Skills requirements: The candidate should have a high focus on delivering high quality work. The candidate should have a strong feeling and interest for development and to share experiences with others in the team and have a proven capability to pursue creative solutions. Prior experience from international and multicultural work is preferred. As we are a global company the candidate must be able to communicate fluently in English, both verbally and in writing.
