Information Architect - eCommerce - £300 a day - 3/6 months - London

My client, a leading high street and eCommerce retailer is looking to appoint an Information Architect on a rolling contract assignment.

The purpose of the role will be to:
* To drive innovation and maintain the award-winning websites from a user interaction perspective, and to ensure a best in class customer experience
* To delve into the finest of details and analyse the user journey, always seeking to make it go that 'extra mile'
* To take on board business and user requirements and output them into detailed wireframes and functional specs, ensuring that commercial goals and stakeholder buy-in are achieved at all times
* To be a passionate advocate for creative problem-solving and the commercial benefits it can bring to the retail environment

Reports to the Website Manager, you will be accountable for achieving?
* Creation of well thought-through user interaction documents (wires, specs, process modelling) that scope out work to visual design and technical delivery teams. No detail is too granular!
* Working closely with Website Manager and Web Designer to conceptualise commercially relevant and on-brand changes to the website(s)
* Analysis of the UK, DE and US websites with a view to localising the experience.
* Putting forward test candidates and executions for the multivariate testing roadmap
* Website analysis using Adobe Site Catalyst to report back on live developments to the senior team
* Working with the merchandising team to identify improvements to the website trading interface
* To work through a set of defined issues and use case modelling, as well as be able to work independently to identify and resolve additional issues proactively.

What technical knowledge do you need?
* Ability to wireframe and output functional specs in OmniGraffle, Axure, Visio etc
* Detail-obsessed - you need to be the sort of person who gets excited about user validation and taxonomy
* The ability to work closely with business, design and technical teams and to drive through your ideas with flexibility where technical issues are encountered
* Working understanding of SEO and accessibility guidelines
* Though not necessarily needing to code yourself, you do need a good understanding of what different codes are out there and how they are best applied
* Experience of running user experience workshops a plus, but not essential
* Experience of working across multilingual websites a plus
* Must have experience of using web analytics packages
* Commercial focus, and able to marry this with user-centred design to create real conversion and performance improvements
