Software Engineer

Description

General Summary
Primarily responsible for developing Integration software components. The Integration Platform includes components typical of demanding systems integration applications, including SSL encryption technologies, data translation systems, network protocols of various types, and maintenance automation, in a multi-language development environment. The software developed must be reliable and run unattended, in coordination with other software components that may or may not have a user-interface. Will implement all phases of development, from design specifications to testing, QA, deployment and maintenance. Success in this challenging position requires creative thinking and self-reliant programming skills not often required in typical development environments.

Job Description
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop system integration solutions for the Integration Platform in a mix of languages, including .NET Framework, C#, Visual Basic, Java, webMethods flow, Perl and others.
Develop deployment methodology, and integrate with existing patch deployment infrastructure.
Document requirements, test plan, QA plan, deployment requirements, and maintenance requirements.
Manage code base in code repository.
Successfully resolve and implement the requirements of end-users, applications support groups, and customers.
Must work as a self-starter, not only accomplishing assigned development tasks with a minimum of prepared documentation, but also identifying areas for improvement and combining these improvements into the product.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or other technical degree (Engineering, Math, Physics, etc.)
8+ years professional development experience in Java, .NET or C++.
Thorough understanding of networking protocols and socket programming interfaces.
Understanding of all levels of development process required (including Design, Development, Testing, QA, Maintenance and Support).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Systems Integration experience with major ERP systems (Lawson, SAP, PeopleSoft, Meditech, PMM)
ODBC programming and database design experience.
Client Server application development experience.
SSL and encryption programming experience.
Web application programming experience.
