Position Summary
CCCi's client has an immediate 6 month contract opportunity for a Senior Applications Engineer. The selected candidate will be working on the development and enhancement of Self-Service Check Out integration for retail markets.
Key Areas of Responsibility
- Responsible for technical design, development, and maintenance of software applications and their associated components within the team
- Contributes to technical strategy discussions
- Selects process/design tools
- Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to new challenges quickly is critical
- Local and International travel may also be required
- Provide technical leadership and assistance to our client's product development teams to ensure the acceptance of the Software Architecture and the aggressive migration of these leading edge technologies into our mainstream product families
- Communicate the architecture and recommendations to senior management, customers, partners and others via formal presentations, white papers, and conversations.
Basic Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience required
- 8-15 years professional software development experience desired
- Strong C++ or C# skills are required
- Experience with NT/2000/XP Multi-threaded development is required
- MFC, JAVA, and Database skills are desired
- Experience with Linux and Driver Level development a strong plus
- POS Checkout Application knowledge a strong plus
- Retail solutions experience preferred (NCR, IBM, Retalix, SNI, and/or ICL)
- OPOS/JPOS knowledge a strong plus
- Experience with Communication with Serial/USB ports a plus
- Experience with multi-thread COM and or JavaBeans development a plus
