Description

Diagnose and analyze system and storage related issues and recommend appropriate solutions based on knowledge of the appropriate systems and systems software. Provide application support and communicate periodically with users on systems status, including system changes, problems, enhancements, and potential impacts. Perform planning and troubleshooting for Netbackup infrastructure Support enterprise Storage Area Networks (SAN), Network Attached Storage (NAS), and Tape Backup/Restore technology in a mission critical environment. Support UNIX and Wintel admins day to day and team with data center operations, production support and escalation teams.

- Responsible for VERITAS Net Backup (versions 6.X) and Enterprise backup/disaster and recovery Operations and troubleshooting
- Responsible for Master Media Server and Policy Schedules.
- Responsible for daily proactive diagnostics to prevent or alert anomalies and resolve error messages.
- Integrating High performance Servers, SAN, NetApp, many different network subnets into the backup scheme.
- Ensure backups are meeting the business metrics.
- Must be available 24/7 for critical data outages/restores.

- 5+ years Storage Systems Administration
- Must have strong Windows System Administration skills and experience with Sun Solaris, HPUX, Linux, and Windows
- Demonstrated experience supporting EMC, HDS, or similar high-end and mid-range SAN Arrays including LUN allocation/masking, performance, capacity management and remote replication.
- Experience performing 1st, 2nd & 3rd level 24x7 production support on system administration, storage, or tape backup environments. Experience performing 24x7 production support.
- Demonstrated experience supporting Network Attached Storage. Knowledge of McData and Brocade SAN Directors/Switches zoning.
- Knowledge of Veritas NetBackup Enterprise or equivalent enterprise backup/restore tools included setup of new policies/schedules, setup tape pools, restore data to UNIX and Wintel Servers.
- Experience with tape/disk drives and backup and restore technologies.
- Hands-on SAN/NAS/DAS troubleshooting experience.
- Significant experience with enterprise-class storage arrays (EMC, Hitachi, NetApp.)
- Significant experience with storage fabrics (Brocade, McData.)
- Significant experience with multiple storage protocols (FC, SAN, NAS, iSCSI, etc.)
- Significant experience with Storage Management software
- Significant experience with the process of provisioning and de-provisioning storage to hosts, and the ability to automate these tasks
- Significant experience with enterprise-class tape libraries and systems
- Significant experience with IBM Tivoli Storage Management (as used for server backups, archiving, etc.)
- Significant experience with server backup and data protection strategies
- Significant experience in data and server recovery
- Proficient in administering storage in multiple operating system environments including Windows, AIX, Linux, VMWare, etc.
- EMC Symmetrix arrays, NAS arrays, EMC Control Center, EMC Solutions Enabler, EMC Storage Scope
- SAN replication/SRDF
- Bare-metal backup and restore technologies
- Experience providing optimized storage for enterprise-class database platforms (DB2, MS SQL Server, Oracle, etc.)
