OPERATOR

Our client is Canada's largest manufacturer and marketer of a broad range of high quality stock and custom envelopes, labels and related mailing products. They are looking for an Operator for a 1 year maternity leave contract.

  • Envelope Machine Operator is responsible for packaging quality envelopes into boxes and maintaining a safe work area while maintaining optimal productivity.
  • Check work docket to ensure correct boxes, labels, and envelopes are being used for customer order
  • Complete quality check list and follow quality program
  • Assist Adjuster with start up
  • Remove finished envelopes from machine, inspect envelopes, pack envelopes
  • Prepare cartons with proper labels and arrange on skids
  • Monitor gum quality
  • Complete documentation: envelopes produced, time sheets
  • Enter information into AS400 system
  • Maintain clean and safe working area (including sweeping, mopping, & general Workstation housekeeping)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • Minimum Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent
  • Capable of lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions (as per docket)
  • Ability to write legibly & use ruler
  • Basic math skills (count and track completed orders)
  • Understand need for Health & Safety and being alert in manufacturing environment
  • Punctual and reliable attendance
  • Team player
  • Strong customer focus
  • Willingness to work shift work: afternoons or nights, and overtime when needed

Shifts and other information:

  • Starting Hourly Rate: $12.00/hr
  • 1 year contract position
  • Possibility of Full time position

If hired:

  • Hourly Rate upon hire: $13.00/hr
  • Pay scale top rate: $16.50/hr (progression over 12 months)

Hours:

Afternoon Shift: 2pm-10pm, Monday to Friday

OR

Night Shift: 10pm-6am, Sunday to Thursday
