Description
CCCi has an exciting contract opportunity for a Senior Ruby and Java Development Operations Engineer to assist in the configuration, management and deployment of software using Infrastructure as a Service on a private cloud. The cloud engineering operations team is building a highly scalable and flexible infrastructure for commodity compute resources.
The Senior Ruby and Java Engineer responsibilities
- Authoring the Configuration Management building blocks using VMWare, Cobbler, and Puppet.
- Build a modular, cooperative, composable, flexible, extensible, repeatable, declarative, abstract, idempotent and convergent infrastructure.
- Ensure all nodes are properly configured and in perfect running state.
- Ensure all systems can grow smoothly while maintaining high availability.
- Ensure all nodes link together at a common revision level.
- Help develop a comprehensive infrastructure policy.
- Review and update recipes following new product requirements.
- Implement automated infrastructure testing and validation.
Senior Ruby and Java Engineer required skills
- Bachelor degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years related experience.
- Current knowledge of.nix (Redhat), Ruby, Bash, Java, svn, VMWare, Puppet, php, RPM.
- Must be opinionated with your technology, always looking for ways to improve the systems and challenging the way things are done.
- Ability to understand Product Requirements, SOPs, Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
