My client, a leading Investment Bank is looking for a Senior Regulatory Accountant to sit within Group Regulatory Reporting.

Purpose of role:

The primary role of Group Regulatory Reporting (which is part of Risk Finance, Group Finance Division) is to report to the FSA financial and risk information for Integrated Regulatory Reporting (IRR) and Enhanced Capital Reporting (ECR). IRR Data Items are required to be reported to the FSA every quarter and ECR every month within tight deadlines. Also responsible for calculation and reporting of capital and risk weighted assets (RWA) both internally and externally and the provision of advice and guidance on regulatory matters.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Review of the IRR Data Items and ECR and completion of the more complex returns for submission to the FSA.
Provide guidance to country and business units on the treatment of capital, RIWAC and RWA.
Explanation of key variances, trends and preparation of commentaries for capital and RWA.
Interpretation and guidance to country and business units on BIPRU and GENPRU rules under Basel II.
Ad-hoc project work related to capital, RIWAC and RWA eg structured transactions and securitisations.
Development and maintenance of the policy and procedures for IRR and ECR.
Coach team members in preparation of the FSA Data Items and ECR.
Contribute to the Bank's response to Discussion Papers and Consultation Papers on regulatory developments and changes from the Basel Committee, FSA, CEBS and others.
Annual and Interim Press Releases and Financial Reports.
Pillar 1 and Pillar 3 reporting.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Qualified Accountant with experience in financial services especially in regulatory reporting.
Experience of financial and management reporting within banking.
Knowledge of Hyperion and Fermat systems or similar Risk Finance systems.
Detailed knowledge of regulatory reporting under Basel II.
Knowledge of banking regulations under Basel II and Basel III proposals.
