Title: IT Business Analyst
Location: Simi Valley, CA
Type: Contract
Duration: 2 months
Our client, a leading financial institution, seeks a Business Analyst. This position will include data analysis, and includes data extracts and support of ad hoc requests from a variety of sources. The candidate will be expected to use data query tools, such as SAS, SQL, and Teradata SQL Assistant to pull and analyze raw data and help solve data research requests.
Works under minimal supervision, with general guidance from more seasoned consultants. Typically requires 5-7 years of experience.
Required Skills:
Database experience with experience doing data extraction/manipulation and analysis.
Experienced user of SQL. Must have knowledge and practical experience working in ad hoc data environments.
SQL experience to include intermediate and advanced functions to analyze and extract data. Experience with Teradata SQL or Microsoft SQL Server preferred.
Experience in data research.
Experience in researching and documenting data lineage/metadata.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required. Must be able to communicate the results of analyses to technical and non-technical audiences and understand their concerns.
Must enjoy a fast-paced environment and be able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously.
Preferred 3+ years experience in the consumer mortgage industry and or banking.
Desired Skills:
Experience in the consumer mortgage industry with exposure in most facets of banking is strongly preferred.
Experience with Business Intelligence/Reporting Tools a plus.
