Experis is seeking candidates for a Voice Engineer opening (6 month contract to hire) in Bessemer, AL. The ideal candidate will be an independent worker that can handle multiple projects/activities concurrently. Must be comfortable researching non-standard technical issues to resolution. Understanding of Telco practices for TDM voice services is ideal as well as knowledge of NANP and Dialing Plan design. Assisting in new/enhanced IPT services and determines operational impact and supportability of service. Assessing impacts of non-standard IPT solutions on the operational network and its support for the customer.
Essential Job Functions
Assume responsibility for the management of projects involving the implementation of telecom and network systems
Interface with the Customer engineering groups/departments, as well as outside parties to assure compliance with laws, codes, agreements and specifications with customer project requirements
Provide direction to subcontract personnel, contractors, warehousing, staging and field personnel
Support project installation schedules and coordinate the delivery and installation of all materials
Coordinate with customer internal departments while monitoring work progress and quality
Development and effective management of cross functional projects throughout engineering, operations and the wider supply chain
Scoping, planning, managing and delivery of project objectives
Define performance metrics and present at operational meetings and project reviews
Assist with the development and implementation of tools, processes, and quality assurance
Requirements
6-10 years of experience in the Data/Voice industry
Project Management or related experience in the telecommunications industry including experience managing technical projects is required.
Design, integration, and deployment experience with Cisco Unified Communications.
Extensive administration, troubleshooting, and support experience with CUCM 6.x and higher.
Extensive administration, troubleshooting, and support experience with Cisco products and Cisco third party solutions to include CER, CUOM, Call Recording, CUBE, CDR, etc.
Extensive administration, troubleshooting, and support experience with Avaya/Nortel PBX systems.
Experience conducting moves, adds, changes for Avaya/Nortel PBX systems.
Extensive knowledge of telephony call flow and routing technologies.
Interface with all facets of Infrastructure for fast resolution times.
Familiarity with Voice Gateways and Gatekeepers utilizing MGCP, H.323, and SIP protocols.
Understanding of voice/data cable infrastructure and troubleshooting.
Must be highly efficient in verbal communication and technical documentation with exceptional client relationship skills.
Experience working within a structured framework to meet timelines.
Bachelors of Science in a related technical field may substitute for required experience.
