Jingle..Jingle...Can you hear the bells ringing for you to join Peak working on a new exciting direct client project. Very long term contract. Located in Western MA. If not local then consultantcy travel will be required.

This is a Sr. Level Consultant Network Architect Position.

Job Details Follow:
Provide technical expertise, consulting, guidance and training for global network and telecom projects (eg LAN, MAN, WAN, WLAN, VoIP, Telecommunication, etc.) based on business and technical requirement.

This includes but is not limited to:
1. Managing and contributing to global project team assignments and providing technical expertise on network projects, such as detailed designs, documentation, and implementation plans
2. Identifying development and continuous improvement opportunities related to network and telecom
3. Reviewing and approving major network and telecom platforms, technology, standards, and policy changes as part of change control and project processes
4. Evaluating and running proof of concepts for new network and telecom technologies and solutions
5. Contributing and adhering to standards set by Infrastructure Solution Architecture & Standards and network and telecom lead
6. Working with procurement to ensure technical needs and deliverables are complete and accurate for any outsourced work
7. Contributing to the development and presentation of infrastructure communications and business cases to senior executives and other stakeholders

Key activities
Facilitate scoping and business priority setting for large or complex changes related to the network and telecom infrastructure, engaging senior stakeholders as required
Contribute to the design of large or complex network and telecom systems
Create and maintain network plans for own area of responsibility, contributes to setting service level agreements, and plans the infrastructure necessary to provide the network services to meet such agreements
Contribute to the selection of appropriate design standards, methods and tools, consistent with agreed enterprise and solution architectures and ensures they are applied effectively
Produce detailed component specifications and translates these into detailed designs for implementation using selected products
Develop RFI and RFP technical and functional contents, evaluate technical proposals, study their feasibility, and participate in technology selection
Analyze requirements for fitness for purpose as well as adherence to business objectives and consistency, challenging positively as appropriate
Ensure that the system design balances functional, service quality and systems management requirements
Contributes to policy for selection of architecture components
Contribute to the evaluation of impact analysis on major design options and assesses and manages associated risks
Contribute to the development of quality training material, developing the skills of business users in leveraging network and telecom capabilities
Determine network and telecom testing policy, and owns the supporting processes
Take responsibility for the management of network and telecom testing activities within a development or integration project or program
Assess and advise on the practicality of testing process alternatives

Strategic Contribution
Contribute to the Infrastructure strategy and roadmap
Maintain a tight linkage with and understand business strategy and priorities
Advocate the partnership between the Infrastructure and the business leading to operational excellence
Contribute Network & Telecom innovation initiatives supporting the strategic Infrastructure visions leading to adding value for the business

Minimum Experience
10 years' experience in IT
4 years' experience in IT network and telecom
2 years' experience in other IT discipline than networks & telecom

Expert knowledge in IT network and telecom architecture and functionality
Deep knowledge of IT disciplines and expertise
Deep knowledge in Internet Protocols and associated technologies
Deep knowledge in IP multimedia, VOIP and related technologies
Excellent in building teams and business relationships
Knowledgeable with policies, procedures, systems and best practices in the areas of IT
Strong planning skills
Sound quantitative and analytical skills
Ability to work effectively in several global virtual teams
Good cultural awareness
