Primary Responsibilities:
Seasoned veteran of Oracle applications and distributed, high performance applications. This platform will be the face to Varolii's SaaS user base and must provide high performance, usability, redundancy, and availability. You will work closely with other software engineers, QA and Operations as well as with our business team to develop high quality products that solve important business and technology problems. You will have the satisfaction of seeing your work translate into direct impact on our overall business performance. In addition to outstanding technical skills, you will operate with a pride of ownership, sense of urgency and a drive to implement the best possible solution to a problem and have the persistence to see it to completion.
The successful candidate will provide on-going support of Varolii reporting software components, perform the appropriate analysis, design, and implementation of reporting enhancements, and participate in the development life cycle of new Varolii reporting initiatives. Candidate should possess a history of strong, creative problem solving skills and the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science with 5+ years ofi industry experience
Strong experience with Oracle RDBMS, with excellent SQL skills and working knowledge of PL/SQL stored procedure coding
Experience with ETL and data summarization tools, techniques and processes
Oracle Enterprise edition including data partitioning
UNIX/LINIX Shell Scripting
Proven ability in building high-performance, highly-available and scalable distributed systems
Self-motivated, results oriented, effective communication skills
Proficiency in problem solving, data modelling, and algorithms
Pluses:
Strong experience developing SaaS or web based enterprise software applications
Java programming experience and J2EE knowledge
Business Intelligence application development and maintenance
WebFOCUS or another high level Business Intelligence language.
Understanding of web UI technologies including HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Jquery
Datawarehouse, OLAP, and other reporting systems
