SOFTWARE TEST ENGINEER
Urgent requirement for a number of experienced Software Test Engineers to work for a client of mine in Portsmouth.
Due to the nature of the project it will be necessary to hold SC clearance
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Self motivated, the ability to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision, significant experience of
software testing using defined, controlled processes - Software development using languages such as C, C++ and Visual Basic to develop GUI based Simulators.
- Demonstrable Software Test and Software Development experience in a Windows based work environment
- Software Testing experience on large projects.
- Configuration Management experience using Clearcase and problem management using ClearQuest.
- Knowledge and use of both Manual and Automated testing.
- Experience in the use of Rational Robot or RFT is not essential but is preferred.
- Good communication skills and team worker.
TASKS:
- The Test Engineers will support the Test Manager in meeting the test strategy for the project.
- They will be expected to generate integration & system level test procedures for both manual and automated testing (Rational Robot derived from System and Subsystem Requirements) as well as the development of GUI based Simulators against ICD definitions to support testing.
- They will be expected to perform debugging of the software to ascertain the areas of failure and to raise software problem reports/defect reports using the Rational ClearQuest problem reporting tool.
DESIRABLE
- HND/Degree or equivalent in a Software Related field
- Knowledge of Satcoms including RF and Modems.
- Knowledge of baseband and IF networks.
- Use of Scripting languages, experience of integrating hardware.
