Filemaker/Programming Analyst
6 Month Contract Position
W2 Only
Located in San Francisco
Position Summary:
The candidate will work in a team environment with other developers on database and web programming projects. The candidate will be helping to migrate several Legacy systems from a Filemaker development environment to a SQL environment. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining and modifying existing modules of our internal FileMaker based systems. In addition, the developer will be working to help as we migrate some of our systems from Filemaker over to SQL. This position will be doing a lot of web development and database work, if you don't know what CSS and a select statements are, this is not for you.
Responsibilities include:
- Develop, secure, implement and deploy FileMaker database solutions to support surgical and research laboratory processes
- Translate client requirements into database designs
- Troubleshoot existing database objects
- Provide documentation client applications
- Participate in technical discussions within the development team, communicating any issues clearly and effectively
- Perform related duties as assigned or requested Requirements
- Willingness to work in a fast paced, ever changing environment
- Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously, effectively solve problems with numerous and complex variables, and be able to shift priorities as needed
Skills required:
- 5+ years professional SQL development on large scale databases
- Prior working experience with FileMaker 10+
- Web Development experience
- PHP
- CSS
- Coldfusion
- Ruby/Rails
- Relational database experience
Skills Desired:
- PostgreSQL experience
- Web Design (Layout and UI)
Preferred Background (any of the following):
- Any experience in a healthcare environment is a big plus
- Familiarity with HIPAA and data security best practices
- Familiarity with Scripting in languages such as Python and Perl
- Familiarity with SQL environments (T-SQL, PSQL)
- FileMaker certification (preferably FileMaker 10 or 11)
- understanding of FileMaker systems and Scripting
- Familiarity with FileMaker plug-ins and FileMaker connectivity to external SQL sources
