Role Description
*To provide Manufacturing Engineering (ME) support to the Wing Systems business to enable the achievement of Business and GAP closure targets.
*The specific tasks undertaken by the successful applicant will be mainly focussed around the resolution of cell related issues, reduction of non-conformance, establishing the most cost effective route of achieving the required quality and delivery. Ensuring environmental compliance through ISO 14001 AND 18001.

Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities
*The successful applicant will be individually responsible for one or more of the following at any one time:
*Cell related production issues
*To determine the most effective and economical method of manufacture.
*To compile process planning for a defined area and define the tooling requirements/manage initial supply of tooling for introduction of new products, and or modifications to existing products.
*To assist in the definition of manufacturing facilities and equipment requirements.
*To provide support for the introduction of new facilities and equipment.
*The successful applicant will also be individually responsible and accountable for the definition, implementation and reporting of key projects and/or continuous improvement programmes, within a defined area.
*Key interfaces and relationships will be maintained with a number of internal (AUK) and external (Customer/supplier) bodies, at levels encompassing unskilled operators, through to senior management.
*All tasks undertaken will be addressed in line with defined M.E. procedures, to achieve challenging targets.
*Points of contact will be made with representatives outside of AUK, including suppliers, consultants and controlling authorities.

Experience
*The successful applicant will have significant manufacturing experience in a production environment particular experience in Welding is essential.
*Recognised Manufacturing Engineering Training although training will be provided
*The successful applicant with LEAN experience principles is preferred
*Specific knowledge of AUK, and its working Procedures is not a requirement, however, a number of year's experience within an Aerospace or similar Engineering-based Company would be advantageous.
*Ability to use Microsoft office and project is essential

*Communication skills must be exemplary.
*Problem solving techniques

Qualifications
*Qualification to HNC/Degree level, unless the applicant can demonstrate a clear ability, and a number of year's experience, in relation to the anticipated position.
