Sr. SOA Integration/Infrastructure Engineer
The Integration Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of shared infrastructure services, common enterprise services, and tuning and configuration of the client's enterprise messaging infrastructure. In this role, the engineer will work closely with Enterprise Architecture and technical project leads to design enterprise services, advise on SOA best practices and standards, assist with performance and capacity planning activities, and implement proof of concepts to assess and vet existing as well new technology components.

This is a technical role requiring hands-on expertise involving working closely with the client's infrastructure design team on planning and configuration of Fuse ESB, Fuse Message Broker (Apache ActiveMQ), and WebSphere WSRR. The Integration engineer will also assist with the design and documentation of common and infrastructure services.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • At least 3-5 years Strong SOA experience including strong knowledge of Web Services (CXF preferred), Enterprise Messaging (Active MQ preferred), ESB (Fuse ESB preferred)
  • 10+ years overall J2EE Distributed technologies including strong Java, J2EE, JMS, HTTP, JDBC
  • Working knowledge of Spring Framework, Hibernate, AOP, TestNG/JUnit
  • Hands on experience using tools and techniques to monitor a SOA environment to assist with capacity planning, troubleshooting, and problem detection/alerting
  • Experience integrating and supporting open source technology stacks
  • Solid experience in planning/architecture development and support, with experience integrating systems in multi-user, multi-platform, multitasking environments highly
    desirable.
  • A broad understanding of hardware and software technologies, network infrastructure, and system performance and optimization design
  • Understanding of how to integrate diverse technology to deliver scalable, robust, and high performance solutions

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Work with Infrastructure design/tuning team on short/long term roadmap, capacity, and performance planning
  • Strong system design assessment, corrective and proactive planning, and joint ownership of execution in a timely manner according to defined schedule
  • Coordination with enterprise architecture and technical leads on enterprise service design, development, and integration
  • Ability to understand and consider current Legacy applications while migrating to envisioned SOA technology platform and infrastructure
  • Effective communication of new standards, design guidelines, processes, and system recommendations to development team members
  • Ability to help troubleshoot and maintain production applications/services as needed
