Description

 Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for understanding and following the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).  Participates in Requirements/Design/Code reviews. Analyzes, designs and develops test scripts/cases to ensure sufficient code coverage of the new or modified software application.  Executes automated and manual test scripts/cases.  Documents and validates identified software defects.  Assists in implementing improvements in test methods and strategies.  Escalates quality concerns to management.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Executes test scripts and logs appropriate testing activities and metrics, evaluate the results and document deviations from the expected results.
Independently analyzes, reviews, and assesses all application documentation (user requirements, design documents, etc.) and establishes the appropriate test basis for each engagement to assist with the subsequent phases of the test development life cycle
Independently analyzes and designs, and develops appropriate test scripts and procedures to effectively and efficiently test the new or modified software application.
Performs test data analysis and leads the setup and verification of test data.
Performs regression testing as designated within each phase of testing.

Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree required.  Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related degree preferred.Knowledge & Skills:
Requires extensive knowledge of software QA testing concepts, processes, procedures, and tools, in addition to a thorough understanding of the SDLC.  Proven planning, analytical, problem solving, and creative/innovation skills to solve complex problems.  Strong interpersonal and organizational skills needed to coordinate efforts.  Requires demonstrated ability to conduct analysis, develop conclusions, and present findings in written and oral form.  Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and ideas verbally and in writing.  Excellent planning, analytical and problem-solving skills.  Strong organizational skills including the ability to handle multiple priorities/assignments and meet project schedules.  Self-motivated with the ability to perform job duties independently with a high degree of efficiency and accuracy.  Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as part of a team.  High level of PC literacy.  Working knowledge of HP Mercury Testing Tools (QC, QTP, LoadRunner) products is strongly preferred. Working knowledge of various data structures and formats specifically XML and SQL strongly preferred.  Working knowledge of automation strongly desired. Working knowledge of insurance industry strongly desired.
