Contract 4 weeks maybe longer
£18.40 per hour PAYE
We are a recruitment company and our client is looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer on a short term contract - the Engineer will be available to start immediately.
The primary responsibilities of the Mechanical Engineer (Design & Maintenance) shall be the provision of a comprehensive professional mechanical maintenance service including day-to-day consultancy advice as required by customers.
The Mechanical Engineer (Design & Maintenance) shall also be required to assist the Principal Services Engineer in undertaking medium or large new-build, improvement or planned maintenance projects, feasibility studies, surveys and other duties, producing schemes and reports to a high professional standard.
Must haves:-
B.Sc - Mechanical.
CIBSE or MIMech E. with significant number of years experience working within the construction industry designing mechanical services.
To be conversant with current regulations associated with Mechanical installations.
To be able to survey, design, specify and supervise contracts covering a wide range of mechanical installations.
To be able to manage a large caseload and comply with management deadlines.
To be fully conversant with energy conservation issues and Building Energy Management systems.
Good all round knowledge of all aspects of mechanical building services and associated disciplines.
Experience of designing and specifying mechanical installations in Non Housing projects including Air Conditioning Installations.
Knowledge of building contracts and their affect on contract documentation.
Ability to use CAD.
Ability to use IT.
Knowledge of legislation relevant to the construction related projects Construction (Design Management) Regulations, IEE Wiring Regulations, CIBSE Guides, Codes of Practices, Gas Safety Requirements, etc.
Working within a multi-professional design environment must be able to assist a team effort to ensure deadlines are met.
