Contract £16 per hour PAYE
3-4 months may be longer
We are a recruitment company and our client is looking for a contract Senior Planning Officer for three to four months. Based in Northampton the successful candidate must have the following:-
Degree in planning or related subject
Post graduate RTPI accredited planning qualification or similar
Membership of the RTPI
Further specialist qualification in a related discipline e.g. Urban Design
At least 4 years post-graduate experience working within a local planning authority Development Control Section or relevant consultancy experience dealing with the full range of applications including major applications which require a project management and development team approach, negotiating / processing 106 agreements and EIA development
Experience of acting as witness at public inquiry and / or hearing
Undertaken CPD to keep up to date with Planning issues
To be responsible for the processing of Development Control / Management matters including the handling of pre-application advice, planning applications and appeals including negotiations with applicants and agents and other interested parties and to undertake effective partnership working with key stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of planning policy including research, monitoring and consultation.
Deal with a varied caseload of the planning, advertisement, Listed Building and Conservation Area consent applications with the emphasis on more complex cases including the provision of pre-application guidance and advice and discharge of conditions. To prepare reports for submission to the Development Control Manager and Planning Committee decisions together with the presentation of cases to the Councils Planning Control Committee.
