A new company where Social Networking meets wholesale exchange. This is a greenfield development opportunity.
This is a new startup company backed and financed by one of the largest corporations in Atlanta. They are just starting to design and develop the basis for the site. This is an opportunity to be in on the beginning development. 1 year + contract with the possibility to perm earlier.
Perm conversation would include equity position in the company.
The Lead Software Engineer will lead a team of developers. The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of web and mobile based software applications as required, to support the program goals at the company. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This role requires the ability to work with little direct supervision on multiple projects concurrently. Additionally, the Senior Engineer must be willing and able to coordinate the work of junior staff as well as lead the engineering team. Superior communication skills, the ability to work across the organization, excellent analytical skills, a professional demeanor and the ability
to participate in an Agile team environment are keys to this position.
Senior Engineers are responsible for the analysis, estimation, design, implementation, deployment, management and daily operations of the technology infrastructure. They are also tasked with driving and implementing operational improvements through optimization of system performance, automation and judicious use of technology. Technology architecture strength and operational rigor are capabilities needed to successfully execute this position.
The successful candidate we seek must have a demonstrable track record of achieving success in a dynamic, fast-paced start up environment. Strong experience in multiple Object Oriented programming languages is a must, like Java and Ruby.
Responsibilities:
Develop application features throughout the stack. Successful candidates will be able to do Front End, middle-tier, and Back End infrastructure development in a team environment.
Must Have Skills:
10 years of Web Application development experience with at least 2 years of experience with a high-traffic consumer website.
Bachelors of Science or Engineering in Computer Software, Engineering or related Field.
Must have hands on/professional experience with Ruby on Rails.
Expertise using relational databases, specifically MySQL is a requirement.
Ability to work within a team.
For the Lead position, prior experience leading a local software development team.
Committed to test driven development.
Hands-on experience with JSON and JavaScript support libraries such as jQuery, prototype, scriptaculous, extJS or others.
Experience with mid-tier technologies: Web Services, XML, SOAP, SAX, Ruby on Rails, Active Record and/or J2EE technologies including EJB, Spring, Hibernate SQL, UNIX,
Ant, Maven, Rake, jUnit
Experience with Cache-Money, Moxi, Memcache a plus
Agile Experience
