Security Analyst Patch Management ()

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Minimum of two years of experience working in a medium size (500 devices or more) windows environment applying OS patches on a regular basis.
Defines and implements information security strategies and procedures.
Works to define and refine information security and systems management policies and settings.
Monitors and assesses vendor and third party information security reports/lists.
Evaluates new and emerging products, technologies and makes recommendations to leadership concerning implementation of new technologies.
Reviews, prioritizes and recommends information security improvements as they relate to the achievement of the customers business goals and objectives.
Executes security controls to prevent hackers from infiltrating company information or jeopardizing E-commerce programs.
Provides information to leadership regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information
Maintain up to date knowledge of current Microsoft and other vendors patch levels and patch recommendations.
Create and maintain a laboratory for testing patches before deploying to the general user population.
Create and maintain a schedule for applying patches.
Design a scheme for applying automatic updates where automatic updates are appropriate.
Maintain Microsoft automatic update Servers .
Act as subject matter expert for management informing them on a regular basis what the impact of new patches will be on the users systems.
Generate printed and electronic reports that management can use to gauge whether of not company objectives are being met with regard to patch management.
Occasional travel to other company locations may be required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Security generalist with a focus on end station patch management techniques and vendor offerings.
Should be knowledgeable with legal statutes pertaining to inappropriate content in the workplace.
Should have a basic understanding of networking protocols and standards.
Social Skills
Good interpersonal communication skills.
Strong writing skills
Some management experience as a team lead is helpful. Candidate may be required to oversee other security staff.
