About the Position/Company:
Joining a team of 12 experienced Engineers and Testers, you will be responsible for building the test environment according to design and support the environment for the Testers and Developers.
Ideally this would suite a Senior Engineer with a broad technology background with experience in networking, integration, Unix and Linux, Oracle, and testing tools.
Responsibilities:
- Build test environment according to design.
- Test the installation procedure and feedback to developers for any variances.
- Liaise with internal and external software and hardware developers/vendors and lead end-to-end System Integration testing
- Perform backup and maintenance function for test environments.
- Configuration manage the model environment so that is in a known state at all times
- Provide inputs to cost estimates and impact analysis on test environment set up and integration test.
- Interpret the project requirements and produce end to end integration plan to reflect the requirements.
- Provide technical support to testers. Manage the escalation process.
- Verify Change Requests from the project teams and coordinate changes through the test environment change process.
- Develop & maintain policies/procedures or standards for the business.
Required Skills:
- Able to apply knowledge of systems engineering principles to achieve required outcomes
- Applies good working knowledge of one or more of these areas: WAN (mainly CISCO, Juniper equipment) & LAN administration; ISP system support, administration & system testing.
- Applies experience with testing or systems administration duties in a software development or integration environment (in ISP, E-commerce organisation or telecommunications environment) to achieve outcomes
- Systems Admin :Solaris 9/10, Suse/Redhat, VMware ESX
- DBA : Oracle , MSSQL, MySQL, TimesTen, Ldap,
- Systems/Applications: Radius, Jboss, Tomcat,
- Networking : Juniper, Cisco, Nortel, UBR, LNS.
