SENIOR COST CONTROLLER

Our Client is one of the world's most successful EPCM firms and is seeking a SENIOR COST CONTROLLER to assist in establishing project control and reporting methodology consistent Management Process

They will be responsible for completing and ensuring accuracy of project cost reports, resource utilisation information, cost curves and milestones information.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with team members and other project personnel
  • Liaise with project teams to ensure the correct utilisation of the project control systems based on project specific requirements and corporate guidelines
  • Review and develop data interfaces for third party project systems, as required
  • Assist in establishing project baseline cost information Global Business System setup, Work Breakdown Structure codes, deliverables, cost data and reporting structure in appropriate project controls systems
  • Interface with project personnel to coordinate data flow from the project team, manage data integrity checks, input data, develop project forecasts and reports, analyse reports, highlight deviations and assist in remedial actions as required
  • Liaise with project managers to clarify project costs related issues
  • Prepare and present project cost reports for project management and customer review. Also assist preparation of other project cost data as required on an regular an adhoc basis for internal project review
  • Assist project managers to implement financial controls including controlling authorisations of expenditure and cash flow projections
  • Preparing project budgets in conjunction with engineering and construction team members
  • Preparation of detailed progress cost monitoring curves
  • Report progress against budget achieved and providing variation commentary
  • Able to identify issues, problems and opportunities; make timely decisions; develop appropriate and innovative solutions; and ask for assistance if required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to convey information and ideas to individuals and groups, and make presentations when required.
  • Able to work on multiple projects of various size and complexity.
  • Able to work effectively in small to large multi-disciplinary teams, and share and transfer knowledge within teams.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Sound experience in the relevant discipline in the same or similar industry, including professional exposure to direct project execution related duties.
  • 8 - 10 years experience in the industry

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIRED:

  • A recognised degree or equivalent qualification or work experience
