Description
Skill Set Required and Preferred:
- Expert knowledge of Medicaid Management Information Systems (MMIS)
- Degree in Business Administration, Computer Administration, healthcare Administration or related area
- Previous fiscal responsibility including profit/loss accountability
- Understanding of Centers for Medicaire and Medicaid Services requirements
- Experience with other state programs and initiatives
- Serves as Georgia Medicaid subject matter expert and key resource in MIP
- Assesses and managers project risks, contractual assests and contratual needs
- Coordinates project planning, development and evolution on a continuing basis
- Serves as a liaison between customers and technical staff in implementation, development and business contacts
- Assists in tracking project resources and staffing MIP
- Defines and analyzes policies for MIP
- Develops economic demographic, business, and sociological forecasts to support development of plans and strategies
- Gathers relevant business and functional requirements for MIP
- Interprets CMS/MIP rules and requirements regarding technical aspects and IT systems
- Provides comprehensive data processing, management, transformation of data and information among healthcare professionals, hospitals and other appropriate stakeholders
- Identifies and corrects errors aas determined in system validation checks
- Prepares system reports as needed to provide management and other stakeholders with information
- Works with DCH legal team to provide information relevant to the audit process for the Georgia Medicaid Electronic health Record Initiative Program
- Maintains current knowledge of appropriate techniques, tools and best practices relevant to data processing and planning for electronic health records
- Conducts periodic assessments to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of data processing and planning; reports metrics to appropriate stakeholders
- Performs job responsibilities with minimum supervision
