Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++, IPTV, DTV, DVB, STB)My market leading client seeks a Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++, IPTV, DTV, DVB, STB) to join their market leading team based in South Wales on a 3+ month contract.
Your primary responsibility will be the development and integration of Embedded IPTV/Hybrid API sets to a variety of environments.
You will be responsible for the analysis, design and development of new Set Top Box software components as well as integrating components from 3rd parties. You will be required to write codes, define tests systems applications and lead and direct the work of others.
As an experienced Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C/C++, IPTV, DTV, DVB, STB) with experience in the DTV/STB commercial market you will have:
1.Minimum of 4 years Embedded development
-Significant experience and knowledge of Linux both as a development environment and as a deployment target
-Knowledge of Linux Kernel, coding device drivers etc. desirable
-Shall be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of Embedded software development in general
2.Expert C and C++ development knowledge
3.Experience of developing for resource constrained environments.
4.Experience of creating build environments from third-party toolchains
5.Experience of Embedded system porting (between OS and/or drivers)
6.Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networking principles and multi-tiered web architectures
7.Broadcast experience (DVB, QAM, QPSK, COFDM would be advantageous)
Desirable:
8.Video Codec exposure (Knowledge of MPEG-, WMV, VC1 etc)
9.DSP or SoC environments (Sigma, ST, Broadcom, TI etc)
10.Satellite, Cable, DTV or IPTV set-top box environments
11.Enhanced TV Experience (ETV, DTV IPTV etc)
