Release Manager - Senior level required for a 12 month contract within a large financial institution based in London.

This is a fantastic 12 month contract opportunity working for a well respected organisation.

Your responsibilities will be to manage changes through the controlled environments with the aim of successful Production implementation. Additionally, the role also provides the opportunity to lead implementation of improvements to processes and practises. The roles primary focus will be on software changes, however it would be expected that the role work closely with counterpart role introducing Infrastructure changes in to the team's service portfolio.

Core responsibilities:
Deputise Release Management Team leader in driving forward the development, implementation and application of release processes and policies, ensuring release processes and procedures are applied
Perform Team Leader activities in the absence of Team Leader, including scheduling and making Release decisions and authorisations
Proven ability to manage full process for releases autonomously, including implementing troubleshooting and problem solving skills, and taking responsibility for the managing of individual releases and their outcome. As well as mentoring and advising, you will be expected to demonstrate conceptual thinking, showing attention to detail in management of release cycle, from technical aspect, in providing advice on installation and standard BTMU release practises as well as environmental standards
Confident in time management and able to work well under pressure; able to prioritise tasks and respond to dynamic situations
Lead the improvement of Release Management by identifying, acting and mentoring to expand areas of service, both in depth and breadth, in terms of technologies and functionality
Develop and maintain relationships internally within Systems Group and externally with other departments and divisions to ensure proactive communication and quality support and service delivery. Demonstrate valuable customer service by providing effective deliverables, in terms of support, coordination, functionality and results.

Education (Essential): Degree (Bachelors/HNC/HND)
Work Experience (Essential): Experience with Release Management and the promotion of release packages through controlled environments. Experience with process driven working practices and discipline to adhere to policies. Demonstrated problem solving skills and dedicated customer service.
Functional/Technical Competencies (Essential): Scripting knowledge and ability to standardise and automate tasks. Process development and definition. Knowledge of Release management practices
