A unique opportunity has arisen for a Cardiac Nurse to be a part of the British Heart Foundation Roadshow team whilst in the East Midlands. The roadshow will start on 23 January 2012, and will be running for 14 weeks.

You will be required to work with a team of Heart Health Advisors on a day to day basis as well as using your own cardiac skills to help clients to access information and lifestyle advice for the prevention and management of cardiovascular disease.

Key areas of responsibility:
- facilitate the provision of an evidence based lifestyle assessment service in line with the British Heart Foundation's policy and guidelines
- use your extensive cardiac knowledge and experience to respond to enquiries about any aspect of cardiovascular heart disease from clients and colleagues
- in the event of a person presenting to the mobile unit with an acute cardiac event, you would take responsibility for ensuring that an ambulance is called immediately and you would provide care to that individual in line with the BHF policy on managing chest pain
- work alongside a team of four Heart Health Advisors and Senior Dietician to deliver lifestyle assessments
- contribute to the growth and success of the BHF Road show programme by assisting in the development of a high quality clinical and advisory service
- Actively promote, and be a role model, for the British Heart Foundation
- work at all times as part of the British Heart Foundation and act as an advocate for the British Heart Foundation including wearing a uniform and badge
- Work within the British Heart Foundation competency framework
- be flexible with regard to working hours including scheduled weekend and evening work
- To share learning?s from the project with the wider BHF staff and contribute to the BHF continuous improvement cycles
