Cardiac Researcher - London - Clinical Research - NHSA lifesaving position has become available within an NHS Trust organisation for a Clinical Cardiac Researcher in the London area. This position is a challenging role where every day is different and really enables you to enhance the lives of others. This is a 6 month fixed term contract position.
Within this position of Clinical Cardiac Researcher you will be required to analyse data and write research papers, with information provided by ambulance staff on the ways in which they treat patients' cardiac conditions. Your reports can mean that new procedures are implemented to give patients the best possible chance of recovery.
Your duties will include:
*Setting research timetables.
*Planning data collection, input and analysis so as to adhere to the proposed timescales.
*Keeping accurate records of case inclusion and exclusion criteria.
*Obtaining data from ambulance service and receiving A & E hospitals' patient records.
*Delivering pre-study research training to ambulance staff to ensure that data is collected objectively.
*Visiting sites to collect data as necessary.
*Entering data and maintaining the project database.
*Undertaking literature reviews.
*Writing progress reports for both internal and external audiences.
*Writing papers for publication in academic and scientific journals.
*Presenting findings at meeting, conferences and seminars.
*Complying with relevant procedures, policies and legislation.
This position of Clinical Cardiac Researcher will suit someone with good data analysis skills as well as the ability to write well structured reports. You will need to have at least a year's research experience as well as a degree in a science related subject. Previous experience of undertaking literature searches using databases such as Medline would be an advantage, as would a working knowledge of statistical packages such as SPSS.
