Oncology Pharmacist
DESCRIPTION:
Pharmacist to work with our Beacon team ( Physician, Nurse and Pharmacist) to build the oncology module in our Epic system. This is an advanced product designed to provide complex treatment plans for oncology providers to design patient specific multi-day plans for the treatment of cancer patients.
The Beacon Pharmacist will be responsible for gathering current state information regarding treatment of oncology patients and guiding the clinical discussion in creating, modifying or expanding the current library of tools for the care and treatment of these patients. The content of these discussions will be very clinically focused and involve complex clinical concepts. The Beacon pharmacist will need to demonstrate a high level of competency in the configuration of the system as well ability in leading workgroup discussion and eliciting the clinical requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work under general supervision of the Department of Pharmacy.
- Coordinate and facilitate discussions and decision making across interdisciplinary teams involving medicine, nursing, pharmacy and IT.
- Function as a subject matter expert in the area of chemotherapeutic regimens.
- Acts as liaison with the Hospital's IT department.
- Responsible for training of pharmacy staff in the use of the Pharmacy system.
- Maintains clinical screening and other necessary upgrades to the Pharmacy computer system.
