Construction Manager

As a Construction Manager you will support the Project Manager in delivering a variety of projects. To achieve this you will liaise closely with colleagues and external contractors and consultants, managing others as required. You will help to co-ordinate the commissioning, design and construction through to safety, finance and testing.
1. Monitor 3rd party site activity compliance with the Governance of Railway Investment Projects (GRIP), relevant rules, regulations, Railway Group and the company's standards and all applicable procedures and legislation.
2. Review in conjunction with the Project Engineer, the contractor's method statements and site-specific risk assessments.
3. Monitor by liaison with appropriate Rail personnel whether arrangements for access, possession, storage, worksites etc. have been made to facilitate the efficient completion of work.
4. Manage the monitoring, by inspections, the quality of the contractor's work on 3rd party schemes.
5. Manage the monitoring of the contractor's site works on and adjacent to the companies Infrastructure for Outside Party schemes
6. Manage the assignment of personnel to the site interface in accordance with capabilities and competences
7. Maintain site presence as appropriate at worksites and manage the continual monitoring of work as necessary. Manage the maintaining of site diaries by the company's Assistant Construction Managers, and contingent labour, as appropriate.
8. Encourage an awareness of the importance of HSQE and good workmanship by regular communication with all staff
9. Comply with the companies policy in accident/incident reporting and investigation, and assist with conducting investigations.
10. Provide functional support to Project Engineers and Project Managers as directed.
