Description

  A life science or Pharmacy degree or equivalent.
Generally 3-5 years of pharmaceutical industry or other relevant experience.
Experience in representing the Medical Communications function in Matrix teams.
Demonstrated ability to accurately and effectively evaluate medical/scientific literature.
Experience in Medical Communications operational management.
In-depth understanding of legal requirements, regulatory issues, Codes of Practice and guidelines in the provision of Medical Communication services with the geographical region or country.
In-depth understanding and significant experience in searching specialized databases for the scientific community.
Receives, documents and responds to medical, scientific and technical information requests from external customers - healthcare professionals, patients, the general public, and internal stakeholders, ensuring prompt, accurate, quality assured responses in accordance with Shire Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Reports adverse events, other reportable safety information, and product quality complaints in accordance with Shire SOPs.
Develops and maintains medical, scientific and technical knowledge for the assigned product(s) and serves as the primary information contact within the geographical region or country.
Participates in the development and maintenance of Medical Communications documentation, this includes but is not limited to Standard Response Documents, Standard Verbal Response Documents, Medical Slides, Reimbursement Submissions, and Data-on-File.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of electronic platforms to facilitate broad access to Medical Communications documents by internal and external stakeholders.
Reviews and approves (if appropriate) promotional materials to ensure information, claims and comparisons are medically and scientifically accurate, clinically relevant and presented in appropriate context in accordance with XXXX SOPs.
As applicable reviews accuracy of medical and scientific content of materials to be presented at XXXX sponsored consultant meetings, advisory boards, and speaker training programs.
May participates in training programs for XXXXX internal departments and vendors within geographical region or country. Training may be related to disease, product, systems or processes.
Participates in national and/or international congresses to support the information requirements of customers and XXXX personnel, contributes to intelligence gathering and the development of own expertise for the assigned product(s).
Maintains a working knowledge of Medical Communications functions, legal and regulatory requirements, Codes of Practice and XXXXX policies, Standard Operating Practices and guidelines as relevant within the geographical region and country.
Provides feedback and input into the development and implementation of Medical Communications procedures and systems.
Creates and maintains key contacts networks with individuals and teams within XXXX in alignment with objectives to ensure awareness and management of stakeholders needs
