This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Java professional to work on the development of pioneering new web-portals. Working within a top-performing and highly-regarded team, you will take ownership of the low level design and development of new features and functions for delivery in a roadmap of scheduled releases.
Part of an agile team you'll be working closely with the assigned product owner, tester, and other developers, to understand and elaborate requirements as stories and scenarios, identify decisions and blocked tasks to be resolved, and progress it from concept to completion within the estimated and allocated timeframes.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with "big data" and the latest open source technologies.
Requirements:
- 5+ years strong Java development experience
- Previous experience in search engines, collaborative filtering or machine learning
- Experience with OO patterns
- Strong statistics/mathematical competency
- Git experience well regarded
- Experience working within agile teams well regarded
- Experience with systems integration via APIs, SOAP, REST or file exchanges well regarded
- Proactive with analytical and problem solving skills
- Code coverage and automated testing factored into all work
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
