Our Client is seeking an Oracle APEX Programmer for a 12 month contract in Raleigh, NC. The Candidate must have experience in Express (APEX) and PL/SQL in a specialized Oracle 11g environment. The Client is world's largest Chemical Company. The Oracle APEX Programmer will be working with the Bioinformatics department to support Bioinformatics efforts focusing on procedures utilized by researchers in plant biotechnology.

REQUIRED:
-Must have grasp on scientific concepts involved in plant biotechnology is essential (genes, lab protocols, LIMS, etc),
-Ability to work with design and programming tools associated with relational database applications
-Must have most aspects and skills involved with traditional web programming could come into play and when and if needed to extend Oracle APEX, namely Perl, Javascript, Java, XML, AJAX, etc.
-Bachelor of Science, Computer Science, with interest and demonstrated ability to work in a biotech research environment. Equivalent experience in lieu of degree is acceptable.
-Problem solving and programming skills on the Oracle/UNIX/Windows Server 2003 environments using SQL, PL/SQL and Oracle Application Express Proficiency with Windows-based tools such as MS Access and Excel is essential, as Access databases are being ported into APEX.
-4+ years overall experience in IS
-Proficiency in the use of structured program design and programming techniques
-Must have 2 years of experience with Oracle APEX and must be currently using
-Must have 2 years of experience with General Web Development and must be currently using -Must have 2 years of experience with Scientific Programming and must have used within the last 2 years

PREFERRED:
- Knowledge of Data Modeling, Warehousing, Mining and Workflow support as pertains to research in plant biotechnology
-Knowledge and awareness of topics and tools core to Bioinformatics (see ncbi.nlm.nih.gov).
