This Leading Australian Retailer is currently seeking a talented Senior Storage Engineer to be responsible for planning, designing and implementing the storage infrastructure to meet the requirements of projects and contributing to the overall storage architecture. Key responsibilities:  
  • Responsible for the installation, configuration, and monitoring the storage management framework for storage management as an utility
  • Responsible for implementing all changes to the storage infrastructure
  • Logical/physical designs of SAN/NAS/DAS infrastructure.
  • Strategic planning of Backup & Recovery environment and infrastructure
  • Performing storage volume provisioning and storage connectivity, using the groups technical standards and best practices
Candidate criteria:  
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Foundation knowledge of all storage products, technology and enterprise storage networking. This includes knowledge of SAN (Storage Area Network) Topology, Network Attached Storage (NAS), Direct-Attached Storage (DAS), databases, data centre infrastructure and facilities and physical to logical mapping
  • Experience in data Replication over DWDM.
  • Experience with UNIX, and Windows Servers from a Systems Administration perspective is desirable
  • Expertise in the administration of EMC hardware (Symmetrix, VMAX, Clariion & VNX)
  • Exposure to EMC Networker, Tivoli Storage Manager and HP Data Protector or other backup and recovery products is highly desirable
  • Exposure to VMware environments is desirable
