DESCRIPTION

The Research Associate Scientist will work in a Protein Engineering Department, to support on-going research and development efforts and to further contribute to the discovery of biological medicines for therapeutic areas. Responsible for the quality control of DNA used in generating human antibody libraries based on state of the art technologies.

Qualifications
  • Requires a BS with a minimum of 1-5 years of laboratory research experience in academia or industry. Not considering PhD's at this time.
  • The successful candidate should have a solid theoretical and experimental background in molecular biology, meticulous bench-work and record-keeping skills, and be able to apply his or her technical expertise to our antibody discovery programs.
  • Working knowledge of DNA cloning including PCR, restriction enzyme digestions, ligations, and agarose gel electrophoresis.
  • Ability to manually prepare numerous independent reactions in parallel and process them in series while following detailed scientific protocols is required.
  • Highly motivated, demonstrate productivity in a dynamic and collaborative environment, thrive within a team, be able to communicate scientific information effectively, and be open to learning new skills.
  • Previous experience in quality control, especially as it pertains to DNA or oligonucleotides is a plus.
  • Experience with Analytical Equipment and Techniques.
  • Antibody Library Construction knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Antibody Selection Characterization.
  • General Laboratory Protein Chemistry skills.
  • Micro-Piping knowledge.
  • Experience with Reaction Work-Ups and Isolations.
  • Data Entry, Data Validation, and Protein Biochemistry experience.
