Description

Job Purpose:
The role is responsible in providing an effective Goods Inwards process and ensuring best practice techniques are adopted at all times.
The Goods Inwards Inspector you will also be responsible for implementing controls in accordance with defined procedures, managing all surveillance and corrective action requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
*Support development of surveillance and inspection requirements and ensure these are implemented and managed effectively
*Ensure all Last/First Article Inspection Requirements from supply base are adhered to and appropriate action is taken to resolve any subsequent issues.
*Manage day to day Goods Inwards issues, eradicating problems efficiently to minimise impact on our client's business.
*Development of links with suppliers to maximise supply chain efficiencies.
*Proactively support Supply Chain continuous improvement activities.
*Using Company 5 'S' philosophy shall ensure all areas under direct control are clean, tidy and well organised.
*Provides advice and oversees Product Verification activities, ie, product inspection, preparation of paperwork and/or parts to support release personnel

Other Responsibilities:
Adhere to legislation governing employment, including but not restricted to; health and safety, data protection, equal opportunities ensuring compliance with local policies and procedures.

Comply with statutory requirements and regulations and Company policies.

Undertake such other duties commensurate with the role that may be required from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge - Demonstrable knowledge and/or awareness of;

*ISO 9001/AS 9100/CAA/FAA Regulatory and Industry Sector Standards
*Business Systems: MRP (ERP)/New Product Development/Product Life Cycles/Microsoft Office Software, etc.
*Product First and Last Article Inspections
*Supplier/Customer quality requirements

Skills

*Able to demonstrate effective communication skills (both written and verbal) with stakeholders at all levels.
*Effective product verification techniques, understanding of statistical sampling and/or 100% inspection requirements.
*Management of goods inwards inspection process.

*Attention to detail/follow up and complete tasks
*Communicate and negotiate using diplomacy and manage conflict
*Apply experience, knowledge, skills and abilities
*Build and maintain effective relationships

Key Working Relationships:

Regular contact with:

BBA Group management team and stakeholders
External customers, suppliers and sub-contractors
Ontic UK managers and colleagues at all levels

Qualifications

Qualification to HNC/Degree level, unless the applicant can demonstrate a clear ability, and a number of year's experience.
