A global pharmaceutical organisation requires an IT Network Engineer to join their pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in the UK. The IT Network Engineer will work as a member of the MCI (Mission Critical Infrastructure) Project Team. The goal of this project is to deliver a secure, qualified, and highly available computing infrastructure, based on a S95 network design, for validated computer systems. The project will be delivered by an internal team working with a third party contractor; this role will involve working with the contractor to implement the network and Firewall components of the design.

Job Responsibilities:
-The IT Network Engineer will serve as the subject matter expert for the MCI network elements (Local Area Network (LAN), Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN), and Firewalls). You will provide in-depth technical understanding and experience throughout the design and implementation phases, working with the third party contractor to deliver the installation and configuration of the physical and virtual networks required to implement the MCI/S95 network. -You will require strong TCP/IP and network infrastructure knowledge, experience with Cisco ASA Firewalls and Switches, network load balancing, VLAN, SSL, VPN, wireless networking, Radius, network security and Windows operating systems.
-Design, install, maintain, update and support network and security infrastructure, including the core Cisco network Switches, Cisco Firewalls, intrusion detection/protection systems (IDS/IPS), wireless controllers and access points

Required Qualifications/Skills:

-CCNA
-CCNP
-5+ years` experience in design, installation, support and maintenance of Cisco networks and Firewalls.
-Excellent organisational skills and ability to work independently or in a team

Desirable Qualifications/Skills:

-CCIE
-A degree in Information Systems or Computer Science.
-Experience in a GMP operations environment or in other regulated environments.

The role will be based on site for nominally 8 months.
