Job Description

MANDATE
The Infrastructure Manager, Incident and Operations Canada ( MOIC)regularly maintains the voice/data network and manages restoration of normal service following an event that disrupts or reduces service quality to minimize impact on business operations. They act as a primary contact for EI senior management in the joint development and implementation of department specific strategies and/or major project deliverables by providing specific input/leadership relative to their area ( s) of expertise. The MIOC is responsible for providing leadership and guidance in the day to day management of people and processes within the section to meet key service level deliveries for complex applications/technologies.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
Maintains and supports all network components ( voice, data, routers, switches, zOS), including patch management & upgrades ( hardware & software)
Reconfigures or reroutes traffic to achieve improved throughput or better balance
Manages the restoration of normal service following an event that disrupts or reduces service quality to minimize impact on business operations
Investigates and diagnoses incidents
Monitors, tracks and communicates incident status
Ev aluates incident management performance based on a set of defined metrics
Ensures that we meet service level agreements for critical system, application and network availability, report and statement deliverables and inter-application link connectivity to ensure service availability objectives are achieved
Provides day-to-day leadership direction and coaching for all staff to ensure quality and maintaining a high level of productivity
Confirms that all management type of administration is administered fairly, professionally, and in a timely manner
Reviews daily practices, processes, and documentation to ensure that all audit exposures and business requirements are dealt with and resolved
Confirms adherence to unit/departmental policies and procedures by all team members
Acts as the escalation point for critical service issues, ensuring that potential problem areas and recommended solutions are further escalated to the Department Manager.
Assists the Department Manager in developing shorter term strategic direction for the section, and provides input into the longer term departmental strategies in order to support EI/T&O/enterprise business direction and objectives.
Acts as a key technical resource/advisor, participates in ( or occasionally leads) projects/task forces in support of major LOB/enterprise initiatives.
Analyzes proposals and recommends input to the capital plan and EI technology strategies
Analyzes fiscal financial plans and manages budget expenses
Key areas of focus include assessing costs, workload tracking, and resource management
Responsible for ensuring cost effectiveness of all activities and continuously seeks productivity and cost reduction initiatives
Oversees the implementation of all Human Resources programs and initiatives, consistent with the general directions and strategies provided at the enterprise and divisional levels, including:
o Annual Employee Survey
o PPA Process
o Development Plans Process
o Rewards and Recognition
Understands and follows security processes and understands how they apply to this role
Contributes to THE BANK Financial Group's overall business results by making recommendations that significantly improve operational efficiency and effectiveness

Job Requirements

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Knowledge:
Possesses a university degree/college diploma in Computer Science or equivalent work experience, and/or 7 -10 years experience in an IT environment and 5 to 7 years of management experience
Demonstrates advanced technical knowledge of related IT technologies/EI platforms
Maintains solid knowledge of current IT industry standards and trends
Displays solid knowledge of the T&O organization
Exhibits solid knowledge of Bank's policies, procedures and methodologies
