Description
My client, a global oil & gas giant, is looking to bring in a group financial accountant to cover for a period of 6 months maternity cover. The role is based in London with some worldwide travel and you will be reporting directly to the Group FC and will have a responsibility to deliver presentations to the senior team members on a regular basis.
The role is a varied one and the right candidate must have excellent experience of all the areas they will be covering to ensure there is no detrimental effect on the existing teams excellent performance. The range of role varies from overseeing the preparation of month/quarterly and year end reporting and producing the annual statutory reports.
You will also be responsible for coordinating the month end/year end process so will need to have very good people skills to extract accurate and timely information from those around you outside of the finance team - you will be presenting them to the board so your communication skills must be exceptional. Another important part of the role is working with the senior leadership team to deliver a range of strategic projects and ensuring these are budgeted and accounted for in an accurate manner. Lastly you will be expected to pick up ad hoc projects and run with them ensuring closure for some and a smooth handover for others for the returning incumbent. Your IFRS and UK GAAP must be exceptional as you will be expected to report in both these formats.
The right candidate will be immediately available for a handover and should have been trained with a top 4 firm, as discussed earlier you must be able to prove that you have performed and succeeded in all the above areas and have excellent communications. Finally you must have a recognized financial qualification in accounting.
