Description
Timothy James Consulting are senior appointment specialists within the public sector finance market. Our client, a large local authority based in the North East currently requires an IFRS Lead Accountant to assist with closure of accounts in line with IFRS. This role is initially for a period of 6 months, with the potential for extension.
Working in partnership with the Section 151 Officer, you will be required to assist the internal finance team with the closure of accounts and recent phases of the IFRS Conversion. This will require coaching and mentoring of internal staff as well as providing detailed project notes and explanatory paperwork.
The successful candidate will also be required to utilise their extensive knowledge of leases and assets in order to eradicate outstanding complications with the initial phases of the project.
